Wondering what home haircare looks like for your So-Pro bundles? Follow these tips, and get the full lifetime expectancy from your hair:
1. Always brush and twist or braid the hair before bed. Use a good quality detangling comb or brush, using slow strokes working from ends to back to weft. Be sure to hold the hair with one hand while brushing with the other, to prevent unneccessary tension or traction. *Helpful tip: paddle brushes detangle best when used in the a vertical direction (up and down).
2. Before shampooing your bundles, always detangle! Gently stroke the hair using fingers in a downwards motion. DO NOT scrub, emulsify, or bunch the hair as this will cause the cuticles to open and roughen, leading to tangling.
3. Following shampoo, always condition your hair with a (light) moisturizing conditioner, preferably a silicon mix (sold here- visit our shop). This alone will make a HUGE difference. When wringing, gently twist the hair opposite of the weft; When necessary, repeat this process from weft to ends.
4. Moisturize your hair as needed with high quality, light, leave-in moistuizers or conditioners-be once per week (2x for textured bundles).
5. Every 4 shampoos or so, add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to your shampoo water: this clarifies, adds shine, amd removes build up from the hair. (*NOTE: for lace frontal and closure glue removal, use this method each time but add 2-3 drops of coconut or avocado oil).
5a. Co-washes are also perfectly acceptable! especially for the textured bundles. This means replacing shampoo with conditioner (Use discretion for this method according to the amount of build up in your bundles).
6. Be patient with your virgin hair weave, and allow to air dry following shampoo.
7. Apply a small amount (pea-sized; for colored hair double this amount and apply to the processed areas) of coconut or avocado oil 2-3 times weekly, as required. AVOID EXCEEDING THREE TIMES per week.
8. Avoid using alcohol based products on the hair, as alcohol is very drying to the hair.
OPTIONAL: Heat can be used; up to 400 degrees is recommended. Treat the hair like your own natural hair! Use heat protectant when applying thermal heat (pea-sized is recommended). AVOID HEAVY SERUMS FOR HEAT PROTECTANTS!!
*NOTE TO WEAVANISTA: So-Pro hair weave is extremely high quality, very little product is needed. Avoid weighing down your bundles by using too much product! Always start with about a pea-sized drop of desired product, repeat this process if necessary.
